Core material choice is a stiffness question. Too rigid against a thin root and you concentrate stress at the post apex; too flexible and the margin flexes under the crown. Fibre posts sit closer to dentine's modulus than metal, which is why they fail less catastrophically when they fail.

GC's core line runs light-cure and dual-cure with matched fibre posts and drills, so the post space, the post and the core are one system instead of three brands guessing at each other.
