The handpiece only — the motor the technician holds. No control box is included.

The handpiece is the part that wears. Keeping a spare means a failed motor costs minutes, not days, and a second handpiece lets you keep two burs loaded and switch without re-chucking.

RAM Products have built electric laboratory Handpieces for over thirty years, and their brushless motors are rated at roughly 10,000 hours — about five times the life of a traditional brush motor. The motor is sealed, so gypsum dust, acrylic swarf and zirconia grit stay out of the windings, which is the usual reason a bench motor dies young.

Shank size

3/32" (2.35 mm) — the standard dental laboratory HP shank. Every HP bur, wheel, disc, stone and polisher in the drawer fits it. This is a bench handpiece shank, not an intraoral one: FG and RA instruments do not belong in it.
