A photographic contraster / background used to isolate the teeth from the oral cavity in clinical images.
A contraster is what turns a snapshot into a usable clinical photograph. Blacking out the tongue and pharynx removes the visual noise that hides incisal translucency and shade — which is exactly the information the laboratory needs and the patient responds to in a case presentation.

- Warm it before insertion to reduce fogging, and dry the surface between shots.
- Anodised aluminium is autoclavable but will mark if it is scoured — clean gently.
