The LUXCreo iLUX Pro Lineup: Printer, iLuxWash, iLuxCure & Tanks

Six pieces make up the chain. The printer alone produces parts; the wash and cure stages are what make same-day, patient-ready appliances realistic.

LUXCreo iLUX Pro by the Numbers

LUXCreo LEAP Technology and Digital Polishing Explained

What separates the iLux Pro from a general-purpose resin printer is the validated chain around it — material, slicing, print, wash and cure cleared and tuned together.

LEAP™ DLP printing

The iLux Pro is a DLP printer built on LUXCreo's LEAP™ platform, engineered for high-throughput dental production rather than general-purpose prototyping.

Digital Polishing

LUXCreo's finishing technology delivers appliances up to 80% clearer than competitors and eliminates roughly 90% of hand-finishing time.

FDA-cleared aligner workflow

The first FDA-cleared 510(k) Class II direct-print aligner workflow. Clearance covers the DCA material and the printing process together.

One-click LuxFlow slicing

Design in LuxDesign, prepare and slice in LuxFlow with one-click automation, then print. The automation is what keeps hands-on time down.

Under three hours, chairside

LUXCreo reports scan, design, print and deliver in under three hours when the full iLux Pro system runs in-clinic.

Eight appliance types, one printer

Aligners, dental and orthodontic models, retainers, splints, night guards, surgical guides, flippers and crowns from the same machine.

Performance figures for clarity, finishing time and workflow duration are as published by LUXCreo. Real-world results vary with case type, design and operator experience.

Honest trade-offs

LUXCreo iLUX Pro Pros and Trade-offs by Component

Direct-print is a genuine step change for aligner and guard production. It also carries real constraints. Both are below.

Pros

  • FDA Class II 510(k) clearance covers the DCA material and the direct-print workflow — announced by LUXCreo in April 2023.
  • One printer covers aligners, models, retainers, splints, night guards, surgical guides, flippers and crowns.
  • Digital Polishing removes most hand finishing — LUXCreo reports up to 80% higher clarity and 90% less finishing labour.
  • Up to 12 aligners in a single build supports same-day, in-clinic delivery.
  • Closed ecosystem: LuxDesign → LuxFlow one-click slicing → print → wash → cure, all validated together.
  • Printer, wash, cure and dryer are designed to sit on a standard benchtop.

Trade-offs

  • Closed material ecosystem. Validated results come from LUXCreo resins — third-party resin is not part of the cleared workflow.
  • Full same-day capability means four units, not one. Budget for the wash and cure stages, not just the printer.
  • Resin tanks are consumables. Plan a spare VAT per material you run so a swap does not stop production.
  • Direct-print aligner work needs a trained operator on the design side. Bank onboarding time before you quote patients.
  • Post-cure and wash both run to 60°C and need 22–32°C ambient with humidity under 80% — check your operatory.
  • Chairside printing shifts lab liability in-house. Confirm your workflow and consent process before going live.

Which LUXCreo Setup Is Best for Your Practice?

Six common starting points and the configuration that fits each one.

Ortho practice going in-house on aligners

Start with the full iLux Pro solution plus DCA. The FDA-cleared direct-print path is the reason to choose LUXCreo over a generic resin printer.

iLux Pro solution + DCA

GP adding night guards and retainers

Printer, wash and cure with DNG. One bottle covers a large run of guards and the Digital Polishing step removes most of the hand finishing.

iLux Pro + DNG

Surgical and implant-focused clinic

Pair the printer with DSG for guides and DMR III for the working models. High-accuracy chemistry for planned placement.

iLux Pro + DSG + DMR III

Lab printing for multiple referring clinics

Run the full stack and stock spare VATs so you can switch between aligner, guard and model resins without draining a tank.

Full stack + spare VATs

Practice testing the water before committing

Start with the printer and model resin. Add wash, cure and the aligner chemistry once your case volume justifies it.

iLux Pro + DMR III

Multi-site DSO standardising output

Same hardware and same validated resin at every location means one training programme and predictable output across the group.

Full stack per site

Match a LUXCreo configuration to your case volume

Send us your monthly aligner, guard or model numbers and we will size the system to them.

LUXCreo Dental Resins: DCA, DNG, DSG & DMR III

The material is half the system. Each LUXCreo resin is validated against the iLux Pro workflow — the DCA aligner chemistry is the one covered by the FDA clearance.
