Description

ENBIO S is the compact Class B Autoclave in the ENBIO line: a 2.7 L chamber that turns unwrapped instruments around in 7 minutes, in a cabinet small enough to sit chairside.

It is a Class B unit — fractionated (pulsed) vacuum, which evacuates air from the chamber before the sterilisation phase so steam reaches the inside of hollow and complex instruments as well as wrapped packs. ENBIO states ENBIO S sterilises “all types of instruments suitable for steam sterilization, including hollow and complex instruments, as well as wrapped packs.” No plumbing: it runs from two bottles and a wall outlet.

How Fast — Cycle Times and Realistic Daily Throughput

The 15 min wrapped-and-dried cycle is the number that governs a working day: pouches come out sterile and dry, ready to store or use, with no second step. At 15 min per load that is about four wrapped cycles an hour, so a single ENBIO S clears roughly 32 pouches per hour of continuous running. The 7 min unwrapped program exists for the other pattern — one set of instruments needed back immediately between patients.

Throughput figures above are calculated from ENBIO’s published cycle times, not quoted by ENBIO. Real-world rates depend on load preparation, how full each basket is, and warm-up between runs.

What Goes In One Load

ENBIO rates ENBIO S at up to 8 pouches in one cycle. That is the only load figure the manufacturer publishes. Cassette capacity is not published — whether a given 8-instrument cassette fits depends on its outside dimensions against the 11.2 x 7.5 x 1.3 in tray, so measure your cassette rather than relying on a number. Handpieces and Hollow Instruments

ENBIO S is a Class B Autoclave with fractionated vacuum — the class specifically intended for hollow, lumened and complex loads, which is what makes handpieces sterilisable in the first place. ENBIO does not publish a dedicated handpiece program. Handpieces run on the wrapped Class B cycle. Always follow your handpiece manufacturer’s own reprocessing instructions — lubrication and maximum temperature are set by the handpiece maker, not by the Autoclave.

Programs

3 sterilisation programs.

• FAST (S-class) — 7 min, 273°F, unwrapped, no drying.
• 273°F Class B — 15 min, wrapped, with drying.
• 250°F Class B — 45 min, for lower-temperature loads.

Plus operational features: automatic self-test, User ID, standby mode, and automatic cycle-report logging to USB — every cycle archives itself, so there is no paper log to maintain.

Water, Consumables and Service Intervals

No special liquid and no chemicals. The unit sterilises with pure steam. What it needs is distilled water — ENBIO is explicit that water outside the manual’s parameters is improper operation, so this is not a preference, it is a requirement.

Running consumables and the manufacturer’s service intervals:

• Chamber seal — every 1,500 cycles. ENBIO specifies replacement at this interval and names the part: 14672SHS. It can be fitted by office staff when the complete door kit is ordered.
• Service inspection — every 3,000 cycles, by a certified service technician.
• Magic Filter — recycles feed water in a closed loop, rated by ENBIO at up to 1,000 cycles per 1 litre.
• HEPA filter and feed / waste bottles — replace per the manual.

If You Are Looking For

More or less capacity — the other unit in the line is ENBIO ENBIO Pro, SKU 488628 (5.3 L chamber, 16 pouches, dedicated prion program). Both are Class B with the same wrapped-cycle time; the difference is chamber size, load count, and the prion program.

Keeping it running — the seal kit (SKU 488631) and Magic Filter (SKU 488638) are the two parts that get consumed on schedule. Order them with the unit and the first service interval is already covered.
