Description

A reinforced high-speed laboratory mandrel with a 3/32" (HP) shank and a 1/16" screw, supplied 12 per pack. This is the carrier that mounts screw-type discs and wheels in a lab bench handpiece.

HP means lab bench handpiece — the 3/32" (2.35 mm) straight shank. It is not an intraoral shank; FG and RA are the mouth-side formats. If you are ordering for a straight lab handpiece, this is the right shank.

The reinforced construction matters at speed. A mandrel that flexes puts the wheel out of true, and a wheel out of true chatters, cuts unevenly and fails early. Reinforcement keeps the mounted abrasive running true where the deflection would otherwise show up in the work.
