Description
DIGITECH MaxPress is a fully crystallized, PRESSABLE Lithium Disilicate (LS₂) glass-ceramic ingot designed for the conventional lost-wax heat-pressing technique in the dental laboratory. Each 5-piece blister contains pre-formed ingots ready to be loaded into a single-use Al₂O₃ pressing plunger and pressed at the manufacturer-recommended firing schedule for an investment ring. The material delivers a flexural strength of approximately 400 MPa and an esthetic profile suited to anterior and posterior single-unit indications.
- PRESSABLE Lithium Disilicate ingot (LS₂) — same chemistry family as the gold-standard IPS e.max Press, at a lab-economic price point.
- Translucency level: High Translucency (HT). High Translucency mimics natural enamel chroma — preferred for anterior single-units bonded to vital, well-shaded preparations.
- VITA-classical shade HT A1 — color-matched to the standard A-B-C-D shade guide used universally by dental ceramists.
- Indications: anterior and posterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, three-unit anterior bridges, and implant-supported single-unit restorations.
- Flexural strength: ≈ 400 MPa biaxial — well above the 360 MPa ISO 6872 Class 2 threshold for single-unit posteriors.
- Compatible with all leading lab pressing furnaces (Programat EP series, Vita Vacumat 6000 MP, Ney VPP, Whip Mix Pro-Press).
- Finishing: stain-and-glaze for monolithic anteriors, or cut-back-and-layer with compatible feldspathic veneering porcelain.
Why You'll Love It
- Same Lithium Disilicate chemistry the lab world standardized around 15 years ago — proven, predictable, kind to the antagonist.
- Buy-the-blister economics — five ingots per blister, full A-B-C-D shade ladder available, factory-direct pricing.
- Plug-and-play with every Programat EP and equivalent Press furnace currently in service in North American labs.
- Bleach shades available (BL1, BL2, BL3) for the rising demand of post-whitening restorative cases.
If You Are Looking For…
A PRESSABLE Lithium Disilicate at a lab-economic price point
DIGITECH MaxPress delivers the same LS₂ chemistry pressed through the same lost-wax + furnace workflow your lab already runs.
To extend the IPS e.max Press portfolio without breaking your case-cost budget
MaxPress sits cleanly inside the same workflow — same investment, same Press program, same hand-shading philosophy.
Full A-B-C-D shade coverage including bleach shades
DIGITECH MaxPress publishes bleach shades BL1 / BL2 / BL3 in both LT and HT translucency families.
A drop-in alternative for High-volume single-unit lab work
Five ingots per blister, monolayer chemistry, fast pressing — matched to volume lab pricing.

Lab Workflow & Handling
1. Design
Wax pattern modelled on the working die (anterior crown, posterior crown, onlay).
2. Sprue & Invest
Sprue per Press furnace guide. Invest in IPS-compatible investment in the appropriate ring size.
3. Pre-heat
Pre-heat investment ring per investment manufacturer's burnout schedule (typically 850 °C, 60 min).
4. Load Press
Load MaxPress ingot + Al₂O₃ plunger into the hot ring. Insert into the Press furnace.
5. Press
Execute manufacturer-recommended Press schedule. Allow controlled cool-down.
6. Divest
Air-abrade with 50 µm glass beads at low pressure to remove investment.
7. Finish
Monolithic + stain-and-glaze, or layered veneering ceramic.
8. Glaze
Glaze fire per universal LS₂ glaze program.
9. Deliver
HF etch + silane + universal resin cement.
Compare vs Ivoclar IPS e.max
Press Ingots (Lab Heat-Press) — Brand-level comparison
Lithium Disilicate PRESSABLE ingots are dominated worldwide by Ivoclar Vivadent's IPS e.max Press — the original commercial LS₂ Press chemistry (Liechtenstein, launched 2005). The table below compares DIGITECH MaxPress head-to-head against IPS e.max Press and two other widely-used LS₂ Press systems, at the feature level — regardless of shade. Differences sit primarily at the price point, translucency-family breadth, and country-of-manufacture level. Press temperatures and hold times are typical published values — always verify against current factory technical sheets before pressing a case.
