40 minutes down to under 10
The DEPRAG W5 Pro runs auto-calibration that cuts setup from about 40 minutes to under 10. Take that at face value and run it forward: 30 minutes recovered per calibration cycle. Over a 5-day week with daily setup, that is 2.5 hours of spindle time you were previously paying for and not using.
Paired with zero-point quick-change at 1-2 seconds per swap, the machine is designed so that the time between jobs approaches zero rather than being the hidden tax on throughput.
Torque is what makes metal real
Plenty of machines list metal on the material sheet. Fewer have the torque to cut it without punishing cycle times or tool life. The W5 Pro uses a 2.5 kW spindle rated at 398 Ncm — enough to mill CoCr and titanium with power in reserve rather than at the edge of capability.

A 24 x 2 magazine is the part worth pausing on. Dry and wet tooling live in the machine simultaneously, so a mixed queue — zirconia in the morning, titanium abutments in the afternoon — does not require a tooling changeover between them.
W5 Pro or W5?
Both are dry-and-wet 5-axis machines and both cut metal. The separation is throughput mechanics, not capability:
- W5 — bench-scale, 18 x 2 magazine, integrated cast-aluminium body. Right when a single machine consolidating wet and dry is the goal and volume fits one shift.
- W5 Pro — floor-standing, 24 x 2 magazine, auto-calibration, remote assistance. Right when setup time and job-to-job switching have become the constraint.
Put plainly: buy the W5 for capability, buy the W5 Pro when the clock between jobs is what is costing you money.
The number to check first
Before comparing spec sheets, measure your own changeover. Time it — from last cut finished to next job cutting — across a normal day, then multiply by how often it happens. If that figure lands above 60 minutes a day, automation of setup pays before any increase in spindle speed does.
